The four behaviors that every hiring manager must be exhibiting to attract
Heading into 2022, hiring has changed dramatically from when I made my first recruiting call in 1995 searching for a “Telecommunications Consultant” for Arthur Andersen. Heck, it’s changed dramatically since 2019 with Covid, the legalities of questions that can be asked, video interviews, etc. However, most companies still recruit as if it was 1995 or 2019. Here are the 5 behaviors companies MUST start doing today…
be FLEXIBLE – Office hours don’t have to be the conventional rigid 8-5pm. Stop being rigid and allow people flexibility in where they work and when they work.
move FAST and FLOW – Don’t rush, but stop dragging your process. The market is hot and your process must be efficient with a consistent cadence to it.
FUN FACTOR – Business shouldn’t be boring. Companies are created and led by dynamic people with personalities that are better team members better employees when they’re happy and having fun.
be FRANK – Candidates appreciate when people are direct with them. Just yesterday a candidate thanked me for giving her direct and honest feedback as to what my concerns were following our interview. If you have concerns about their fit, share your concerns sooner than later.
