Mad World

Dear Friends,

I hope this note finds everyone healthy and well.

Although it feels like an eternity, it’s only been three months since we entered into this global health crisis which triggered a financial crisis, and what I believe is an impending mental health crisis -  all of which are highly concerning.  As if things couldn’t get worse, we had the murder of George Floyd.  This has brought racism front and center igniting discussions and protests across the country.

We at Z3Talent see all of this as a sad and tragic state of affairs and hope to see change sooner than later.  We as a country, community, company, family and entrepreneurs must be able to discuss issues on their merit without spiraling topics into Right vs Left issues.  A middle ground exists within economics, science, social responsibility, and logic where political lines should not be drawn.

Given we are in the hiring business, we wanted to make it clear that we seek the best person for the job, regardless of background, race, religion, or sexual orientation.  Great hires come in all shapes, sizes, and colors.  That’s our focus and always will be.

I’ve spent many hours over the last two weeks reading and speaking to entrepreneurs, colleagues and business leaders in Ascendeur, YPO, EO, Leadership Denver as well as our client base about the state of the world and their thoughts about how to handle the crisis’ we are facing. It has been extremely helpful and I encourage all of you to have similar discussions in your communities and organizations.

Our hope is that the country can elevate its efforts above the recent partisan history and that peaceful protest and strong participation at the polls will drive us into a better future.  Personally, I will continue my own educational journey and exploration and encourage you all to do the same.  Meanwhile, Z3Talent will continue to impact the world in what we do best as a company: one great career move at a time.

Thanks,
Steve
