School’s out and summer has finally arrived in Denver after an incredibly wet winter and spring. Temperatures will be hitting the upper 80’s and breaking into the 90’s on Saturday. In parallel with all of the above, the hiring market is heating up as well

Welcome to my first blog of 2021! It is with great excitement that I share some very inspiring news. My daughter, Tess Boade, was drafted to the National Women’s Soccer League. She is a Duke University senior and team co-captain who was selected by Sky Blue FC and will be playing in New Jersey, my home state. From the dreams of a little girl…I am beyond proud of her.

Z3Talent is excited to announce that Ellen Boade has joined as a talent partner and vice president of business development.

Over the past few months we have kicked off 10 searches which is twice the amount during the same time period last year. I’m personally doubtful this pace will continue, but we’re feeling very fortunate. Here is a brief description of several of the search assignment we have been retained to complete in case you may have recommendations.

In the past two weeks I have personally interviewed 2 individuals who struggled with mental/emotional health issues pre-COVID. In both cases, their employers let them go over it. Imagine all the mental and emotional issues currently brewing in the workforce right now?

I hope this email finds everyone doing well given the unprecedented circumstances we find ourselves in. Our team is healthy, and we are optimistic about the future. We believe our entrepreneurial clients have the ability to change the world, and they will. Over the past month I have connected with nearly 100 entrepreneurs and business leaders. It is amazing the local community we live in and how supportive people have been.

Happy Earth Day! Hope this update finds everyone happy and healthy. One of our greatest living leaders, Warren Rustand, made these points in an interview the other day:

1. Increase discipline during crisis in all activities.

2. The world is changed by those who do, and those who do are disciplined.

3. Disciplined endeavor creates hope.

Someone recently asked me if I knew what VUCA was. I had no idea. A quick google informed me that VUCA is an acronym that stands for Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity. A combination of qualities that, taken together, characterize the nature of some difficult conditions and situations…Pretty relevant for what we’re all going through right now as entrepreneurs and business leaders.
